Manufacturing Intelligence: Contractor Position (Small Molecule Operations)
The newly created Manufacturing Intelligence organization within Pharmaceutical's Global Technology & Engineering will help to drive Pharmaceutical Global Supply toward 'Industry 4.0' capability through Big Data, Process Analytical Technology, Advanced Process Control, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
The Manufacturing Intelligence organization identifies and delivers high-value transformational opportunities focused on process insight and control of manufacturing assets and processes with the potential for substantially reducing cost and cycle time and increasing robustness and productivity.
Within the Manufacturing Intelligence organization one of the customer-facing teams (Small Molecule Operations - SMO) is accountable for the identification of opportunities across the network of SMO manufacturing sites and for the development and deployment of Process Analytical Technology and data analytics as part of customer focused projects.
The successful candidate will be a member of the SMO team and will have the responsibility to develop and implement Process Analytical Technologies, and support robotics, cobotics and lab automation initiatives for SMO manufacturing and quality operations.
This position is for 12-18 months and will be based at the Pharmaceutical Parsippany, New Jersey and may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing in the laboratory using techniques including but not limited to chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry.
Conduct data analysis and interpret results
Author reports and/or presentations describing results and interpretation
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety standards and guidelines
Develop, improve, and customize equipment, processes, and analytical methods
Communicate effectively at multiple levels covering project technical details or progress
Collaborate effectively internally and with cross-functional teams with an open attitude towards fast learning
Preferred Qualifications and Attributes
Relevant degree and background in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Hands-on experience in key technical areas, including Process Analytical Technology and control (such as near-infrared, Raman, and ultra-violet spectroscopy) as well as analytical testing, (such as Dissolution, Assay, Content Uniformity)
Knowledge of robotics, cobotics and lab automation is a plus
Familiarity with data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence
Familiarity with MVDA and software (such as SIMCA, Minitab)
Self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and related unit operations is also a plus
Skills
Must have:
1 year of experience with NIR and/ or Raman spectroscopy.
Nice to have:
Pharmaceutical, lab automation and robotics experiences .
Schedule: Monday - Friday - first shift
