Position Details:
Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Groton, CT is currently looking for a Analytical Chemist I (LC-MS, HPLC) to join their expanding team.
Job Title: Analytical Chemist I (LC-MS, HPLC) / Pharma Industry
Duration: 12 months contract, extendable up to 36 months
Location: Groton, CT
Note:
The client has the right-to-hire you as a permanent employee at any time during or after the end of the contract.

Job Description:
This job function provides analytical support for determination of ligand binding to target protein using two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled with high resolution mass spectrometry (2D-LC/MS).
This analyst needs also engage with ligand binding confirmation using Native Mass Spectrometry approach.
Key responsibilities:
Work directly with Pharmaceutical senior scientist in day-to-day tasks.
Conduct sample preparation and assist instrument analysis/troubleshooting.
Assist running experiments and data acquisition.
Assist data processing with instrument vendor's and Pharmaceutical in-house software.
Capture data into Pharmaceutical e-notebook and assist data archiving.
Help to maintain instrumentation and bioanalytical consumables inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or relevant disciplines
Knowledge of separation science and/or instrument analysis particularly in LC/MS
Computer literacy, and competency with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.
Fast learner of new skills and attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training and experience in analytical lab with any of the following HPLC, mass spectrometry, sample preparation/purification for either large or small molecules
Demonstrated scientific knowledge (e.g. GPA) and/or skills to maintain high level of performance
Job Expectations:
Onsite, 40 hours / week, present during core business hours (9 to 3)
