Carle Health is seeking a Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) to join our expanding Behavioral Health team at Carle BroMenn Hospital in Normal, Illinois.
Responsibilities:- Performs and documents psychiatric/psychological assessments on assigned patients. Monitors and maintains a therapeutic and safe environment in accordance with TCBH policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performs and documents psychiatric/psychological assessments on assigned patients
- Assesses the nature, causes and potential effects of personal distress; of personal, social and work dysfunctions; and psychological factors associated with physical, behavioral, emotional, nervous and mental disorders through use of assessment procedures such as interviews, behavioral assessments, and the administration and interpretation of test of intellectual abilities, aptitudes, personal characteristics and other aspects of human experience and behavior relative to disturbances.
- Supports and provides education to patients, families and other health care team members.
- Establishes, implements and maintains a plan of care reflective of identified problems/needs.
- Identifies and utilizes appropriate psychiatric/psychological interventions to achieve desired patient outcomes
- Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to treatment plans as appropriate.
- Provides continuum of patient care using care management.
- Actively participates in the collection, development and reporting of data for performance improvement and initiatives.
- Adheres to departmental and hospital policies, procedures. Responds to emergency plans as directed by the department/unit responsibilities.
- Utilizes service breakthrough expectations.
- Serves as patient advocate to ensure that patient and customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
- Individualizes each patient’s plan of care.
- Resolves patients and customers concerns immediately using the defined service recovery process.
- Utilizes appropriate referrals and chain of command to resolve ongoing patient customer’s complaints (such as patient’s grievance process).
- Maintains positive relationships with all customers e.g., patients, significant others, physician, and associates.
- Assesses own learning needs. Seeks appropriate training and development. Sets own objectives and goals.
- Participates in development of other team member’s technical and interpersonal skills to improve patient care.
- Focusing on the intellectual, emotional, biological, psychological, social and behavioral aspects of human functioning across the lifespan, in varying cultures and at all socioeconomic levels, identifies improvement ideas within scope of responsibility, and assumes accountability for implementation and communication of plans and results.
- Utilizes creative measures to optimize customer satisfaction.
- Cross-trains to other units and unit functions as necessary to achieve optimal flexibility.
- Suggests productivity improvement ideas
- Implements patient care activities as appropriate for skill levels with documented competency plan
- Flexible in meeting the staffing requirements of the practice and unit
- Participates with other Associates in creating a cooperative team environment
- Actively participates in unit meetings. Provides positive suggestions for improvement of clinic services.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with physicians, co-workers and Practice Manager to assure delivery of quality care in a high stress environment
- Participates in implementing planned changes and activities to improve services, the working environment or patient care.
- Holds self and others accountable for clinical practice and customer service initiatives.
- Actively participates in recognition efforts of team.
- Assists with unit staffing requirements by accurately communicating staffing needs and patient acuity
- Responsible for efficient utilization of all resources within scope of practice.
- Communicates inventory needs adjustments to leader.
- Participates in cost containment practice strategies.
- Assume own time management responsibility
