Position: Clinical Patient Safety Manager (Acute Care)

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Patient Safety Manager to support our client, a reputable acute care hospital.
Position Overview:
The Clinical Patient Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of patient safety within the hospital. This includes developing and implementing patient safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in acute care and a proven track record of implementing and managing patient safety programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement patient safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas for improvement in patient safety
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and staff to promote a culture of safety and implement strategies to reduce errors and adverse events
- Monitor and track patient safety incidents, analyze data, and make recommendations for improvement
- Provide education and training to staff on patient safety protocols and procedures
- Serve as a resource for staff and patients regarding patient safety concerns and inquiries
- Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and best practices related to patient safety and make necessary updates to policies and procedures
- Participate in root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for patient safety incidents
- Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management and quality improvement, to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient safety
- Prepare and submit reports on patient safety data to hospital leadership and regulatory agencies as required
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and external organizations, such as accrediting bodies and patient safety organizations
- Participate in hospital committees and work groups related to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by hospital leadership or Northwest Talent Solutions LLC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related healthcare field required, Master's degree preferred
- Current and active RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care, with at least 3 years in a patient safety role
- Knowledge of patient safety regulations and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Experience with electronic medical records and patient safety software preferred
- Certification in patient safety or quality improvement preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. The Clinical Patient Safety Manager will primarily work in an office setting within the hospital but may also be required to attend meetings and events at other locations. Some evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate hospital needs.
