About the Job
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in insurance, business, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims adjusting.
Strong knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and regulations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in computer applications, including claims management software.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel when needed to attend legal proceedings such as deposition, mediation, or trial.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Professional demeanor and customer service orientation.
Midwest Family is a remote work environment. Applicant must have sufficient space for an at-home office and high-speed internet is a requirement
Ability to work a 40-hour week, 8-hour days, 5 days per week, with potential overtime during periods of heavy claim volume
Certifications:
State-issued adjuster license preferred.
Additional certifications such as AIC (Associate in Claims) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This is a sedentary position, in which the adjuster is at a computer desk typing and working the telephone regularly for the bulk of the working day.
This position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other devices.
Candidate must be physically able to travel when necessary and participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
