Description:
Responsible for the day to day needs and duties of the claims department. Support clients through claims process, manage claims to ensure they are handled properly. Providing guidance and support for our teams and our clients.
- Ensure that all systems, procedures, and company regulations are understood and adhered to by all department employees.
- Interview and recommend the selection of new employees in the department.
- Evaluate performance of the Claims Customer Service Representatives on a semi-annual basis.
- Ensure that the department is meeting quality standards of the agency and workflow policies are being followed.
- Track daily time and attendance of department staff.
- Maintain a productive and professional atmosphere and coherence among department staff.
- Facilitate and be point person for programs that involve the department.
- Responsible for accepting commercial/personal claims from commercial/personal clients and educating insureds on the process and expectations.
- Monitor claim adjustments and facilitate reconciliation of questionable claims. Involved in the adjudication of claims in accordance with policy benefits, limitations and/or exclusions.
- Meets or exceeds all required claim productivity, quality and timeliness standards set by management.
- Works with customers, carriers, and internal staff to gather information needed to resolve complex claim issues.
- Conduct claim reviews for clientsto be reviewed with Account Manager and Sales Executives when appropriate.
- Maintain professional accreditation necessary to meet agency standards.
- Participate in continuing education programs when available.
- Build and maintain a favorable and professional work relationship with other staff members.
- Adhere to established employee manual policies and guidelines.
- Adhere to workflow procedures and follow guidelines to reduce the risk of E&O claims.
- Promptly report all E&O claims and potential E&O claims.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with Vertafore a plus.
- Appropriate state insurance licenses and continuing education required.
- Works effectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company in a professional manner.
- At least 3 years of carrier or agency claims experience.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- High level of organizational ability with attention to detail.

Salary is $60,000 to be paid biweekly on an hourly basis
