Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team in our Princeton office as a Paralegal supporting litigators that have a high volume of work. The paralegal will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s). These duties include maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involve in the cases etc. This position requires knowledge of best law frim practices and the legal field.
This role is eligible to be a on a hybrid work schedule, after in office training is completed.
IMPORTANT QUALITIES:
Communication Skills: The paralegal must be able to document and present their legal research and any related information to their supervising attorney(s) in a timely manner.
Computer Skills: The paralegal need to be familiar with using computers for legal research and litigation support as well as support in any other facets of law. In addition, the paralegal needs to be familiar with computer software that may help them organize and maintain legal documents.
Interpersonal Skills: The paralegal will spend most of their time working closely with clients and other professionals and must be able to develop good relationships. As such, they must make clients comfortable sharing personal information regarding their cases.
Organizational Skills: The paralegals will be responsible for many cases at times. They must adapt to a fast paced environment with constant changing of deadlines. In addition, in order to be efficient the paralegal must contain excellent organizational skills.
Research Skills: The paralegal will need to have good research and investigative skills to conduct legal research.

TARGET HOURS BILLING REQUIREMENT:
- 100 hours per month
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
- Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
- Knowledge of billing
- Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles
- Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm’s document Management software
- Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial
- Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court
- Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts
- File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council
- Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associates’ degree, or certificate degree in paralegal studies, or 5 or more years of experience as a paralegal.
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
- Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
