We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Chief Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in leading our engineering department, managing the design and development of mechanical systems, and ensuring the successful implementation of our engineering strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems, and a proven track record of successful project management. This role will be critical in driving innovation from engineering to manufacturing, and will require a strong understanding of DoD and government contracting.
Responsibilities:
1. Direct and oversee the engineering department, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
2. Utilize Creo CAD to design and develop complex mechanical systems.
3. Manage ancillary systems and ensure their optimal performance and efficiency.
4. Lead the design and development of motorsports engineering projects, if applicable.
5. Drive innovation from engineering to manufacturing, ensuring the successful implementation of new technologies and processes.
6. Manage DoD and government contracting processes, ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements.
7. Conduct performance management of direct reports, providing feedback and coaching to ensure the continued growth and development of our team.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements, and incorporate these into our engineering strategies.
Qualifications:
1. BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on mechanical engineering.
3. Proven experience managing an engineering department, with a track record of successful project management.
4. Proficient in Creo CAD and other relevant software and tools.
5. Experience with ancillary systems and motorsports engineering is a plus.
6. Strong understanding of DoD and government contracting processes.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on performance management.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to innovate and think creatively.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
