Our client is looking for a seasoned and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team and lead the organization, acting as a strategic advisor to the founders of the business. Industry alignment: F&B, Manufacturing, CPG for a company > $500M in revenue
Onsite requirements: 5 days / week in LA. Candidate must be located in southern California or willing to relocate.
Comp details - The Company is offering a competitive total compensation package for the right fit, including a base salary band of $350k - $500k, and a minimum performance-based bonus of 50%. Potential LTI TBD.
Essential Job Functions:
- Recommend, develop and implement short and long-term strategic financial objectives of the Company to manage growth and maximize returns, including, but not limited to, financial investments, budget ideas and initiatives, tracking and managing cash flow, and leading financial planning efforts with the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
- Lead the accounting and finance departments, ensuring accuracy, controls and credibility of financial operations, cash flow and financial reports (by operation, function and consolidated).
- Establish budgets with functional leaders, Executive Team and Board, and provide periodic and timely financial forecasts, along with analysis and recommendations.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of business goals, objectives, initiatives, new programs or strategies and regulatory changes.
- Working with the Executive Team, help to identify short- and long-term business needs (including, but not limited to, personnel, capital investments, inventory, etc.), propose solutions, and advise on the financial implications of, proposed and actual business activities and initiatives.
- Maintain effective internal controls and supervise cash management and treasury activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws, rules for financial, and tax reporting, and ensure accurate preparation of all financial statements, including, but not limited to, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and appropriate governmental agency reports as appropriate.
- Establish and cultivate working relationships with accountants, banks and other vendors.
- Monitor and manage investments and use of funds, debt leverage and investments to minimize costs and maximize return on investment.
- Working closely with the Executive Team and Board of Directors, provide critical assistance on mergers and acquisitions.
- Evaluate, recommend and implement improve systems and processes for efficient management of the finance and accounting department.
- Manage capital investments, operations and administrative costs to maximize profitability.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or any other related field
- 10 – 15 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles. Prior experience as a CFO (or divisional CFO / VP of Finance) of an organization that exceeds $500M in revenue is a must have.
- Prior experience in the F&B, Manufacturing or CPG industries
- Outstanding tactical and strategic skills, with proven “hands-on” ability to handle financial analysis and reporting, as well as ability to delegate and develop direct reports.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with, and/or manage, at all levels of the organization and with staff at multiple locations
- Proven ability to work in a complex company and industry and find creative solutions that address and resolve multiple functional needs (Legal, Operations, Sales, HR, etc.) and not just Finance goals and priorities.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license
- Prior experience with an organization that is highly acquisitive is a nice to have, and will be highly considered
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365 or a similar enterprise ERP system | Power BI a plus
