We are looking for a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead accounting and financial operations, fleet strategy, and the development of HR, IT, and Business Intelligence functions. The CFO will also be responsible for overseeing debt management, cash flow optimization, and streamlining processes.
Position Overview
The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the Board, driving Advantage's financial and operational success globally. This role requires deep expertise in rental car industry, accounting and financial transformation, fleet optimization, and the ability to build and scale organizational functions while leveraging industry-specific systems for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive Advantage’s growth and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with the Board to shape long-term business strategies and prioritize investments.
- Monitor market trends to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring competitive positioning.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Overhaul financial systems, processes, and controls to ensure compliance, transparency, and accuracy.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budgets.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, accounting systems, and financial records.
- Direct day-to-day operations of accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to deliver timely financial reports to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with auditors and ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations.
- Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Align financial systems with operational needs.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and operational regulations.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with fleet, debt, legal, and IT operations.
Fleet Management and Optimization
- Direct fleet purchasing and sales strategies to maximize profitability.
- Negotiate vendor agreements for favorable terms in fleet procurement.
- Oversee vehicle resale processes to achieve optimal residual values.
- Conduct fleet margin analysis to identify areas for cost optimization and improved performance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure the fleet aligns with customer demands and service quality.
Debt and Cash Flow Management
- Lead debt management strategies, maintaining compliance with lender agreements and optimizing financing.
- Responsible for cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and investment needs.
- Build relationships with financial institutions to secure favorable terms for credit and refinancing initiatives.
HR, IT, and BI Responsibility
- Human Resources (HR):
- Build a scalable HR function focusing on recruitment, retention, and performance management.
- Design and implement HR policies that promote diversity, inclusion, and compliance.
- Information Technology (IT):
- Modernize technology platforms to enhance scalability and customer experiences.
- Develop IT systems to support operational, financial, and compliance goals.
- Business Intelligence (BI):
- Establish data analytics capabilities to generate actionable insights.
- Build performance dashboards and integrate data sources for decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and manage high-performing teams across accounting, finance, fleet, HR, IT, and BI functions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Set measurable performance goals and drive continuous improvement across all functions.
Requirements
- Industry Expertise: 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience, with significant exposure to the rental car or transportation industry.
- Fleet Management Experience: Expertise in fleet purchasing, sales, and margin optimization.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with TSD, QuickBooks Online, ERP platforms, and BI tools.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to build and scale accounting, financial, operations and organizational processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Strong executive leadership abilities with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
