Chief Engineer - Complete Building Services

About the Job
Complete Building Services supports over 100 different commercial properties in the Washington DC metro area. We are hiring a Chief Engineer to take on a portfolio in Bethesda, MD. They will work hand in hand with our client and our Field Supervisor to ensure the building is running at top efficiency. Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with flexibility to support projects after hours as required. Salary $40-$45 depending on knowledge and experience. Your day to day will vary and your duties could include:
- Providing Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed
- Assist with competitive process, develop statement of work construction documents, obtain bids/proposals/cost estimates for TWO's (Tenant Work Order's) and construction projects
- Oversight of diagnostic and repairs on building systems
- Oversight of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety system repairs
- Preparing work schedules
- Maintaining records and prepare required reports
- Coordinating and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis
- Manage on-site subcontractors supporting the projects
- Preparing and issuing solicitations for the subcontractors as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of the contract requirements
The Chief Engineer shall possess the following minimum qualifications
- 10+ years of building engineering experience
- Strong leadership skills a must
- Experience managing subcontractors
- CFC Universal
- Exceptional HVAC knowledge/skills
- Demonstrate expert working knowledge of engineering and building systems
- Quality Control/Inspect completed work
- Ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and project tracking software
- Ability to read, review and understand blueprints
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage subordinates and multiple projects in a fast pace environment
