The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is the visionary force driving our organization's mission, ensuring our financial future while empowering communities. As the strategic leader of all fundraising, donor engagement, and marketing efforts, the CDO plays a pivotal role in advancing our cause. You will lead a dynamic team of development professionals, harnessing innovative strategies to secure essential funding, amplify our message, and make a lasting impact on hunger relief. With a passion for data-driven decision-making, you’ll oversee programs, cultivate donor relationships, and steer marketing efforts that elevate our brand and fuel change.
Key Responsibilities
Lead with Purpose: Inspire and guide the Development team in achieving ambitious fundraising, volunteer, and brand awareness goals aligned with our strategic vision.
Strengthen Donor Partnerships: Build and nurture long-lasting donor relationships to ensure a steady and growing stream of support for our mission.
Financial Leadership: Develop and manage revenue and expense budgets, analyze data to track progress, and forecast future initiatives for maximum impact.
Drive Marketing & Outreach: Spearhead our marketing, branding, communications, and outreach strategies to enhance the visibility of our programs and expand our reach.
Optimize Fundraising Efforts: Manage direct mail and digital campaigns, leveraging cutting-edge technology to maximize efficiency and results.
Comprehensive Fundraising Strategy: Craft and execute bold, innovative fundraising plans encompassing major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and special events.
Lead Planned Giving: Expand our Planned Giving program, empowering donors to make a lasting difference.
Advocate & Collaborate: Partner with the CEO and Director of External Affairs to ensure unified messaging and active advocacy efforts at national and local levels.
Maximize Grant Opportunities: Oversee grant applications, ensuring funding for key programs and initiatives.
Foster a High-Performance Team: Lead, mentor, and develop the development team to deliver on ambitious goals in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
Public Speaking & Representation: Serve as a passionate ambassador for the organization, participating in speaking engagements to raise awareness and forge partnerships.
Organizational Leadership: Contribute to high-level organizational planning, implementation, and evaluation as a member of the management team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
5-7 years of proven success in fundraising, development, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and leading capital campaigns
Strong relationship-building skills with high-level donors, foundations, and stakeholders
Expertise in philanthropy and fundraising techniques, including planned giving and corporate partnerships
Ability to analyze data, trends, and fundraising metrics to drive strategy
Proficiency in donor management systems, CRM platforms, and financial forecasting
Strong team leadership and collaboration skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing staff
Familiarity with the organizations software systems and a commitment to learning new technology
A valid Arkansas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening
