Job Description
Chemical engineers (also known as process engineers) design the processes that are used to turn raw materials into chemicals, drugs, fuel, plastics, cosmetics and other products. They apply their knowledge of chemistry and physics to develop and test the processes, machinery and equipment needed.
This is a medium-sized manufacturing facility that does custom-compounding. About 2/3rds of the workforce is in the manufacturing plant and 1/3rd in the warehouse – non-PSM regulated facility. This is one of two plants the company has in the US, the other facility in the Atlanta area. This position reports to the plant production manager who also oversees the Georgia facility.
This person will be responsible for process optimization, updating SOPs, helping to upgrade the plant controls and instrumentation systems as well as production support.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of post-college, industry experience, out of chemicals, plastics, rubber, foods, pharma, paints/coatings, etc.
- Candidates would ideally have at least some experience or exposure to PLCs, instrumentation, etc.
