Position Summary
The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for providing field service support for startups, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing automated processing equipment across a variety of industries. This role will involve frequent travel to customer sites in the first year, followed by a transition into an office-based engineering and design support role. The ideal candidate will have a Chemical Engineering background and strong experience either inspecting, servicing, installing, or troubleshooting automated processing equipment and associated control system components.

This role will involve frequent travel to customer sites in the first year, followed by a transition into an office-based engineering and design support role. The ideal candidate will have a Chemical Engineering background and strong experience either inspecting, servicing, installing, or troubleshooting automated processing equipment and associated control system components.
Key Responsibilities
- Startup & Commissioning: Lead the startup and commissioning of gas processing systems, ensuring successful integration with customer operations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and obtain resolution for operational issues with pumps, valves, industrial piping, compressors, transmitters, analyzers, PLCs, VFDs, and other control system components.
- Field Work: Travel to customer sites (~50% in the first year) for system installation. This will gradually reduce to 25% after 1 st year
- Transition to Office Role: After approximately a year, the role will shift towards more office-based duties including design support, customer consultation, and system optimization.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams, project managers, and customers to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Training: Provide training and support to customers and in-house teams on equipment operations, safety, and troubleshooting.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of three years working with industrial process equipment, including startups, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with pumps, valves, vessels, scrubbers, piping, turbines, and industrial automation components (PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs).
- Field Experience: Documented experience in providing field service and troubleshooting in industrial settings.
- Skills: Strong understanding of process diagrams, P&IDs, and control systems.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% during the first year, transitioning to an office-based role after that period.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with customers.
- Safety: Ability to work in compliance with OSHA standards; HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
