Position Overview:
The Certified Mazda Technician is responsible for understanding and completing routine mechanical repairs required to recondition vehicles to a high company standard. You will perform general repairs and diagnostics with assistance as needed and utilize the multi-point inspection form for every vehicle serviced. This role involves making quality checks after each repair and promptly informing the Service Manager of any changes or deviations from the original repair order. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to, engine, transmission, drivability, cooling system, brake system, electronics, steering and suspension, and HVAC systems.
You will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the high-quality service they expect from our dealership. Who You Are:
- You are Mazda certified with 2+ years of technician experience.
- You are focused on quality and consistently meet or exceed productivity and service standards.
- You are a team player and can effectively communicate with service team members to ensure customers receive accurate and timely information about their vehicles.
- You are a reliable individual with a proven work ethic
- You have the keen ability to identify problems efficiently and timely
- You have 2 + years of experience and strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, along with diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- You continuously learn new technical information and techniques through training to stay updated with rapidly changing technology.
Essential Functions:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Mazda vehicles according to manufacturer standards.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and document findings for each vehicle.
- Maintain expertise in areas including engine, transmission, drivability, cooling systems, brake systems, electronics, steering and suspension, and HVAC systems.
- Make quality checks after each repair to ensure high standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors to explain repair needs and provide accurate time estimates.
- Inform the Service Manager of any changes or deviations from the original repair order.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Stay current with Mazda training and certifications to ensure expertise in the latest technology.
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Mazda Technician (Level 1, 2, or Master Technician preferred).
- ASE certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and uphold dealership standards.
- Valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
