Job Opportunity: Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary staff and oversee the operation of the foodservice department in our skilled nursing facility located in the beautiful Boone, North Carolina area. The Certified Dietary Manager will ensure that all practices comply with current federal, state, and local standards, and will collaborate with the clinical team to develop personalized nutritional plans for residents. This position is also involved in the day-to-day management of the kitchen and resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain food service policies and procedures.
Conduct interviews with residents or family members to gather dietary history and food preferences.
Evaluate the quality of meals and conduct routine temperature audits to ensure food safety.
Document food preferences and nutritional information in resident charts.
Maintain safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals used in the dietary department.
Complete administrative duties such as reports and evaluations to manage equipment and supplies.
Foster a productive working relationship with the dietary team and other departments.
Process diet changes and address food-related grievances.
Participate in interdisciplinary department meetings.
Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) required.
High school diploma and completion of an accredited dietetic training course.
Knowledge of foodservice practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines for nursing care facilities.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.
