About the Job
Category Manager (Chems & Gases)' Fab Materials (CM) is responsible for
the effective coordination and optimization of the sourcing process for
fab materials. The CM builds and maintains relationships with internal
stakeholders at all Qorvo Fab Sites. They also organize requirements,
manage interactions, and implement comprehensive agreements with
suppliers outlining all commercial, capacity, and technical aspects.
Maintains ownership of supplier contracts, commercial terms, and price
performance. The CM also leads periodic supplier business review
sessions with key suppliers while working with suppliers to achieve cost
and lead time reductions, manage quotations and cost analysis to aid in
negotiations. The CM coordinates the qualification of alternative
solutions by evaluating supplier capabilities, capacity, and overall
ability to deliver. The CM must also drive process standardization
strategies across all manufacturing sites, resolve supplier
nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions, as well as
prepare and present periodic Category reports to the Executive Team.
Responsibilities: Manage the Internal Qorvo spend on category specific
Fab Materials and achieve annual cost reduction goals. Maintain working
knowledge of current and developing technologies. Collaborate with
technical stakeholders to qualify alternative sources for assurance of
supply. Measure supplier performance, conduct supplier business reviews
and implement improvements. Measure spending and savings, set reduction
goals and manage projects to achieve success. Maintain Category Strategy
and present Category report-outs to leadership. Maintain Business Acumen
to stay ahead of the industry curve. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
in Business, Engineering, or Chemistry discipline required A minimum of
8 years of experience as a category manager (supply chain, sourcing,
project management or equivalent experience) Knowledge about wafer
manufacturing, fab materials used in the process and critical path
items. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to
clarify complex situations and gather consensus with internal and
external audiences. The ability to manage numerous activities
simultaneously and reprioritize in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Background in (or work closely with) wafer manufacturing and Process
Engineering Experience with SAP (Material Management module, PO,
Material Master, etc.) and supplier contract administrator.
Self-Managed/Motivated: the ability to independently set priorities,
meet commitments and the desire to seek valuable improvements. Prefer
Lean working knowledge supported with certification. The preference is
for this person to sit in our Hillsboro OR facility. However, we are
also open to this person to sitting in our Richardson TX or Greensboro
NC locations. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the
Company.
