The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely application of incoming payments to customer accounts. This role works closely with the accounting team, accounts receivable, and other departments to process payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain an organized record of all transactions.

Position Purpose:
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely application of incoming payments to customer accounts. This role works closely with the accounting team, accounts receivable, and other departments to process payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain an organized record of all transactions.
- Apply customer payments to appropriate invoices in the Company’s accounting system. Verify and allocate payments from various methods, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.
- Reconcile payment discrepancies by reviewing bank deposits and accounts receivable records.
- Investigate and resolve any payment variances or shortfalls.
- Collaborate with accounts receivable and collections teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and credits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in accounts payable or related finance role. Prior recent experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiasm and a desire to learn and grow
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency of Microsoft Excel
Work Schedule:
- Full Time Exempt Position
- Mondays through Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Work hours may extend based on business operation needs
- This position is expected to be in the office location on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Environmental Factors:
- Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment
Physical Skills and Abilities:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity including ability to grasp and operate equipment
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information
