Organizes, develops, implements, maintains and monitors all aspects of Performance Improvement standards that meet federal, state and local requirements for Cardiac Diagnostics and Interventional Services in our local cardiology department.

Responsibilities:• Develops, implements, measures and communicates PI initiatives to improve patient care and customer satisfaction.
• Develops educational in-services for staff designed to improve understanding of PI.
• Collaborates with the Corporate Regulatory and Performance Improvement team to improve compliance with and understanding of all healthcare regulations and standards
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients’ rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies serves as resource for staff in the use of all cardiovascular systems.
• Accountable for maintaining down time productivity.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all procedural changes and equipment updates
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
• Performs all other duties as necessary to assure customer satisfaction. Manages reportable occurrences and files appropriate forms with Risk Management.
• Participates in the process to ensure that all regulations are adhered to within the department.
• Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure.
• Performs data capture for registry reporting if applicable.
Education/Training
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse and/or Allied Health Professional Program; and
• Previous Electrophysiology or Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience.
Licensure/Certification
• Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years; and/or
• certification as a Rad Tech (RT) renewed yearly; or
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) renewed every two years; or
• Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) renewed every three years; or
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) renewed every three years; and
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS/Healthcare provider certification; and
• Maintains current ACLS certification.
Experience
Two (2) years in an acute care setting. Extensive computer experience required to include a variety of software including spreadsheets,
typing reports, charts and graphs. Statistical collation required.
