Job Summary and Qualifications
The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of the unit and serves as liaison between staff, physicians, and administrative personnel. They work cohesively with the Director to ensure excellence in care, improved quality, and fiscal responsibility. The Manager promotes strong and effective working relationships with other departments within the facility/health system including but not limited to nursing, supply chain, and other ancillary departments. Responsible for maintaining timekeeping system, schedules, accountability records for direct reports.
What you will do in this role:
- Determine needed staffing fluctuations during the shifts.
- Serve as educator and mentor to staff.
- Ensure all paperwork and competencies are complete on new hires during orientation and ongoing for current staff.
- Provide leadership with communication flow and the implementation of area specific policies and practice guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients.
- Provide direction and acts as resource to other members of the team to ensure comprehensive and safe patient care
- Maintain aseptic and safe environment in the Cardiac Prep/Recovery, CV PACU, and CCL-EP area.
- Maintain an active role with quality data collection and performance improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain schedule for all Cardiac Prep/Recovery, CV PACU, CCL-EP personnel and manage Kronos edits and payroll.
- Collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership related to growth and initiatives.
- Develop performance plans, identify performance issues, and manage performance and career development of direct reports.
- Approve and contribute to In-service education programs.
- Investigate, resolve, and document resolution of complaints or incidents concerning patients.
- Maintain knowledge and follows all TJC, CMS requirements.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, Accredited School of Radiology, or Accredited RCIS/RCES School required.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Registered Nurse (RN), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
- 3-5 years of related leadership experience highly preferred.
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience highly preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
