POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician performs maintenance and repairs of Channing House buildings and property. Together with the entire team at Channing House, your role contributes to promoting a healthy and vibrant home for our residents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities:
General Responsibilities 100% of job duties
- Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, facilities and safety inspections.
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks including the operation of power tools used in building improvements and maintenance of equipment.
- Adhere to schedule of routine maintenance for all equipment within the facility
- Maintain associated records through the work order system
- Oversee outside vendors and provide assistance when needed
- Work with Facilities Manager to keep shop well organized and inventoried
- Provide excellent customer service to residents
- Assist and supports all policies, goals and objectives of the Facilities Department
- Responds to emergency service calls and makes repairs or communicates to Facilities Manager to call out a repair vendor
- Assists with resident emergency situations that may require personal protective equipment for entry into an environment where contagious pathogens exist
- Inspects Channing House facilities and equipment to determine their proper utilization and maintenance
- Ensure adherence and compliance with safety laws and regulations and inspects tools and equipment for condition and proper use.
- Assists as a back-up driver during evenings and weekends in urgent situations, ensuring transportation needs are met promptly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Years of Related Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years of related work experience.
Educational/Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Computer/Software/Technical Applications:
- Ability to use a computer
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of Work Order Systems and Inventory Systems
Languages:
- Ability to speak and comprehend English the primary language used in the workplace; ability to speak and/or comprehend other languages utilized by clients is a plus.
Required Licenses/ Certifications/ Background:
- Background in fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems desired.
