Overview:
The Cabling Technician specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various cabling systems within our production facilities. This role involves working with a range of cable types, including but not limited to electrical, fiber optic, and structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cabling within industrial environments, possess a strong understanding of cabling standards and safety regulations, and demonstrate precision and reliability in their work.
Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair electrical, fiber optic, and structured cabling systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements of cabling systems.
- Conduct tests and inspections of cabling systems to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with cabling systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Coordinate with other technicians and production team members to ensure cabling installations do not interfere with manufacturing operations.
- Document installation procedures, modifications, and repairs made to cabling systems, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
- Keep abreast of advancements in cabling technologies and industry best practices.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe, adhering to company policies and OSHA safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance on cabling matters to other team members and departments as needed.
- Manage inventory of cabling supplies and equipment, ensuring availability of necessary materials for all projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Cabling Technician, with hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of cables within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with industry standards, including NEC, EIA/TIA, and OSHA regulations.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working as part of a team and interacting with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights, and to adapt to changing conditions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

- Physical fitness, capable of lifting heavy equipment and performing manual labor for extended periods.
