**CSSS has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)position.**
The Program Coordinator will report to the Administrator but will also support the Director, and CSSS core faculty, instructors and affiliates as needed, managing day-to-day functions and providing a variety of program support functions in the administration of a busy cross-disciplinary Center. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication and a commitment to customer service.
**POSITION PURPOSE**
The Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (CSSS) is looking for a full-time Program Coordinator to support our Center. CSSS was founded in 1999 with the triple mission of galvanizing collaborative research between social scientists and statisticians, developing graduate courses for social science students, and enhancing undergraduate statistics training for the social sciences. CSSS was the first center in the nation devoted to the interface of statistics and the social sciences. Today, CSSS is an established component of the University of Washington's research and training environment, with strong ties to the Statistics department, social science departments, and other units across campus. Four members of the UW faculty are designated as CSSS core faculty, with the fifth core faculty joining in Summer 2023, and over 100 UW faculty are CSSS affiliates.
This position includes a mixture of duties including serving as the unit's HR/Payroll Specialist, Time Schedule Coordinator, Purchasing and Travel Coordinator, as well as general office management, communication, and customer service duties.
The Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (CSSS , or C-Triple-S) is a small academic unit within the larger College of Arts and Sciences. We develop and offer graduate courses for social science students, galvanize collaborative research between social scientists and statisticians, and enhance undergraduate statistics training for the social sciences.
Because CSSS is managed by a relatively small team, we each get to wear a lot of different hats. Whether it's managing the course schedule, tracking a travel reimbursement, uploading new website content, or organizing the Center's data, we handle it all with efficiency and a touch of enthusiasm to keep our unit running smoothly.
If you like keeping checklists and managing calendars, you appreciate a well-worded paragraph and you aren't afraid of googling to solve a problem, you will be able to make a big difference to our little team.
The Program Coordinator position is an excellent opportunity to work in a challenging environment where a wide variety of skills will be appreciated on day one.
