Job Summary:
As a CNC Supervisor & Programmer, you will be responsible for overseeing CNC Operators, managing CNC machine operations, and generating CNC programs using SolidWorks and Fusion 360 software. This role involves ensuring the efficient functioning of the CNC department, maintaining safety standards, and mentoring team members to enhance their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruiting and hiring of CNC Operators.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, sketches, and drawings to generate CNC programs.
- Create CNC programs based on technical drawings and sketches using SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
- Collaborate with the toolroom to acquire necessary tooling for production.
- Communicate quoting issues and production challenges to management.
- Oversee routine monthly machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and implement shop safety rules to minimize lost man-hours and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Promote a healthy and positive work environment for all employees.
- Mentor CNC Operators to improve their knowledge and skillset.
- Maintain an accurately detailed shop labor schedule to assist with labor tracking functions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of CNC experience is required, including programming and supervisory roles.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and CNC programming.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Dependable and capable of frequently working long hours.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and problem-solving.
Work Location and Travel:
- The position is based at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, FL 33801.
- Work hours and days vary, with shifts scheduled from Monday through Sunday; some overnight work and frequent overtime may be required.
Work Environment:
- The working environment often involves exposure to harsh elements, including hot, humid, or cold temperatures, and rainy conditions.
- Industrial environments may expose the CNC Supervisor & Programmer to hazardous chemicals, heavy moving equipment, machinery, and other safety-sensitive risks.
- Constant alertness and adherence to safety protocols are required to safely perform the essential duties of the job without endangering oneself or others.

Physical Requirements:
Talk/Hear: Needed to communicate with team members, provide instructions, address operational issues, and ensure that safety protocols and production requirements are clearly understood and followed.
Stand/Sit: Required to monitor machine operations, input programming commands, conduct inspections, and oversee production processes.
Walk: Frequently used to move between different workstations, inspect machinery and work areas, and interact with team members and other departments.
Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Required to operate machine controls, adjust settings, inspect components for precision, and ensure proper setup and maintenance of equipment.
Climb: Occasionally needed to access elevated areas for machine maintenance, retrieve tools or materials from high locations, and oversee operations on elevated platforms or equipment.
Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Needed to access machine components, perform maintenance, and inspect or adjust equipment in confined or low-clearance areas.
See: Required to accurately interpret blueprints, monitor machine operations, inspect finished parts for quality, and ensure that programs are executed correctly.
Carry, weight, Lift: Needed to handle tools, materials, and machine components necessary for setting up operations, performing maintenance, and assisting with production tasks.
Exposure to work: environments with heavy machinery, hazardous chemicals, and varying temperatures, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the team and the proper functioning of the shop.
