CNC Programmer-Prove-out Technician
Job Overview:As a CNC Programmer-Prove-out Technician, you will create, optimize, and validate CNC programs for machining complex parts with precision. This role ensures all components meet blueprint specifications and production timelines, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to achieve the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed programming plans for advanced machining tasks.
- Collaborate with project engineers to select tools and fixtures that optimize performance, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Create efficient CNC programs tailored for diverse materials, including superalloys like Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel, to meet project demands for cycle time and quality.
- Perform first-run setups and program prove-outs on cutting-edge machines, such as:
- Horizontal CNC milling centers
- CNC turning centers capable of handling parts up to 118” in diameter and 7.5 tons.
- Minimize spindle downtime during setups and prove-outs while maintaining exceptional precision.
- Train machinists to execute programs, including setup, machining, and inspection.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation per ISO/AS standards for future use.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Engage in additional tasks to support manufacturing excellence.
What You’ll Need:
- Associate degree or equivalent technical education.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and prove-out.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and advanced blueprint reading, including GD&T.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a drive to innovate.
