Nesco Resource is searching for an experienced CNC OPERATOR TEAM LEAD to join an established manufacturer in the Kansas City area.
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:30am, Thurs - Sun every other Wed
Pay: $27/hour $3 stipend
CNC Machine TEAM LEAD Summary:
The Team Lead will supervise and lead an assigned team through daily activities, ensuring that the safety, quality, and production standards are followed, and goals are achieved. In this position, the working team lead may be assigned daily production tasks to maintain in addition to the Team Lead responsibilities.
CNC Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for loading parts, operating controls, machining parts, inspecting parts, following all established processes for conformance to requirements, and deburring parts if required
Check, and monitor parts that are being run
Follow sequence of operations and set up requirements – under supervision
Read the basic dimensions and tolerances of a blueprint
Achieve Earned Standard Hours Goals and Objectives
Ensure that documentation is completed properly, including but not limited to PCDs, proper clocking in and out of jobs, daily operator checklists, either in Paper or Syteline
Diligently follow the company's process and procedures for nonconformance parts.
Participate in and sustain Ultra C-Lean objectives.
Will be responsible for maintaining proper inventory of hand tools and inspection equipment
Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and report all malfunctions to Cell Leader or other Supervision.
Maintains safe and clean work environment, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Setting up Machines and Tool offsets but must be confirmed by Team Lead or Machinist prior to running.
Fill out Tie-In-Book with a good, detailed note to communicate what was completed by parts and operation. Note any problems like broken tools or machine alerts. Fill out all check boxes for set-up and shadow boards.
Mark each part that is unloaded with employee number and associated operation that coincides with PCD or IR check.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
TEAM LEAD Responsibilities:
Receives and communicates the daily objectives from the Production/Operation Supervisor, or Engineering Manager.
Oversees the daily workflow; instructs team members accordingly.
Monitors and reports incidents/occurrences related to, but not limited to safety Near Misses and incidents, quality issues, inadequate work of a team member, training, equipment malfunctions, employee attendance, and updates towards the team goals.
Assists and or administers the corrections to the employee time-tracking and labor balancing tasks of the team.
Conducts performance evaluations of the team members on or before the due date.
Provides positive and negative feedback to team members and documents the coaching and corrective actions.
Coaches to the training assignments of members on the team and verifies that trainings are completed.
Conducts routine presentations to review the key metrics with the team.
Facilitate the Safety Talk trainings with the team, as assigned.
Maintains the Ultra C-Lean culture within the assigned team.
Maintain individual contributor tasks assigned as a member of the team.
Any other reasonable tasks assigned by Supervisor.
CNC Machine Operator Qualifications:
Understanding in blueprint reading and GD&T preferred
Able to read G Code preferred
Basic knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines preferred
One-year Milling Machine experience strongly preferred
Experience using measurement tools (e.g., caliper, micrometer, height gage, etc.) strongly preferred
Good mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
Must have High School Diploma, GED, or able to demonstrate basic written, reading, verbal, and math skills
TEAM LEAD Qualifications:
Experience successfully training and coaching other employees preferred
Complete routine tasks in computer software programs such as: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Factory Track, Syteline, and UltiPro preferred
Understand AS9100 or other Quality Management Systems preferred
Meet all the qualifications of the highest level of the Core position strongly preferred
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions strongly preferred
Currently rated, at least, a B in Job Mastery and Performance, Internal Candidates
High School Diploma, GED, or able to demonstrate basic written, reading, verbal, and math skills required
CNC Machine Operator Skills
Basic computer skills (e.g., loading programs, clocking in and out, Factory Trak, accessing dispatch list)
Basic blueprint reading – dimensioning and tolerancing
Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Accurately complete required paperwork (e.g., Work Orders, Tie In Books)
Select the correct tool and media to blend / edge break a machined part
Finish machined parts to meet BAC5300
Forklift certification
Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to refractometer, calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales
In-process inspection
Identifying and controlling nonconforming product
Fixture and part loading in CNC machines
Cutting tool setup and insert rotation/replacement
CNC Milling Machine operation
Perform autonomous preventive maintenance on equipment
Crane/hoist certification
Ultra C-Lean
