About the Job
The CNC Machinist III operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate finished parts to specifications while holding tolerances +/- .0005. The Machinist loads parts in the machine, cycle’s machine, and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Responsible for operating one or more types of computer numeric controlled production equipment. Selects appropriate settings and makes adjustments as necessary. Follows established quality and safety standards. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.

Key Responsibilities :

- Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
- Replacement of worn tools
- Start-up of several CNC machines.
- Positioning and alignment of cutting tools in toolholders on machines.
- Understand blueprints, layouts or charts, and job orders and how it relates to the specifications and tooling instructions.
- Selection of cutting tools and tooling instructions.
- Set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to workpieces.
- Refill, change, and monitor the level of fluids, such as oil and coolant, in machines.
- Install holding fixtures, cams, gears, and stops to control stock and tool movement, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Proficiency with hoists, fasteners, and hand tools.
- Proficiency with toolholders manually or by turning handwheels.
- Complete in process inspection of machined parts using a variety of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, microscopes, fixtures, indicators, and special tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
Skills Required:
- Comprehension of complex engineering drawings.
- Blueprint, GD&T, measuring equipment
- Basic Communication
- Strong shop math
- High attention to detail and self motivation
- Well developed workmanship skills (Sanding, filling and deburring etc.).

Manufacturing floor environments
Controlled temperature environments
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a Full-Time hourly position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
