Position Summary: The Rehabilitation Technician I/BA assists assigned adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with their physical care; participates in the implementation of the patient’s plan of care as directed by the RN; maintains an organized and safe patient/unit environment. Provides safety, structure and physical care in a consistent manner to patients with physical impairments, impaired reasoning and thinking skills and/or behavior issues.
Position Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Current for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA required. license required.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent, or 1 year of acute care CNA experience required
- Experience:or care provider experience preferred. Previous experience with patients with SCI, TBI and/or mental health preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Ability to take exceptional care of patients by providing multi-skilled direct patient care as delegated to by the RN. Knowledge of patient safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
Essential Functions:
- Provide personal direct care for patients in collaboration with the RN.
- Utilizing a consistent, patient-focused care approach to meet patient needs and demonstrate initiatives to utilize a holistic approach to identify patient needs; Assist with the patient dining process by serving meals/feeding; Instructs patients in self-care and instrumental activities of daily living to provide skill practice including but not limited to bathing, dressing and daily grooming activities.
- Support the plan of care by carrying out and recording specific nursing care procedures such as bowel program procedures, emptying catheter, measuring and recording intake and output, measuring weight gain or loss, and providing emotional support and encouragement to all patients.
- Respect patient’s privacy and confidentiality with every interaction as per HIPAA Regulations
- Prepare and maintain a record of observations and care given. Document information clearly and completely utilizing correct forms and in a timely manner according to hospital policy.
- Use Standards of Care and hospital policies/procedures to guide practice.
- Demonstrate competency in time management, organization, prioritization & critical thinking by planning and organizing work assignments and prioritizing the specific needs of the patients.
- Use body, tools, or special devises to safely, effectively, and efficiently to move, guide, or place patients. Involve some latitude for judgment with regard to precision attained and the selection of what adaptive devise(s) to utilize.

Salary Range: $19.58 - $28.20
