CHMC –Physical Therapy- Union Clerical – Full Time- Day Shift – 7a-3:30p-Requisition 8059

Job Grade 6: Pay Range $17.84-$22.09*

Responsible for maintaining daily operational activities including but not limited to:

• scheduling patients, answering phones, managing patient flow within the department

• passing accurate/complete messages, gathering and entering statistics

• collecting copayments

• participating in weekly huddle

• monitoring for staff schedule gaps

• providing feedback regarding anticipated caseload

• supports therapists by preparing charts for timely documentation, scanning documents or making detailed notations

• communicates therapist findings to referring provider when necessary including follow up for signed certifications

• Performing any assigned departmental audits

• Participates in completion of departmental administrative tasks including but not limited to: Policy Tracking, Numbers Tracking, participates in initiatives to increase patient survey scores, and patient retention (such as reminder calls)

• Performs accurate registration processes and makes timely corrections to mistakes

• Maintains communication via messaging, email, 1:1, staff meetings, huddles

• Provides floating secretarial coverage when necessary between cardiology, Canton physical therapy, and Ogdensburg physical therapy

• Contacts new referrals in a timely manner and maintains method to track incoming referrals and follow up with older referrals

• Completes prior verification of benefits and any necessary authorization or other such tasks that increase payment for services rendered, communicating necessary information to patients regarding financial responsibility/insurance benefits

• Maintains organized work space

• Adapt to change when necessary

• Responsible for management of assigned practices, their staff and office operations.

EDUCATION:

Required:

● High school diploma/GED

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Basic computer knowledge.

• Medical Terminology

• Must have experience registering patients and obtaining insurance validations and authorizations

• Must communicate effectively with medical personnel

• Accurate typing skills, organizational skills, clerical skills and good attention to detail
