About the Job
Our client, a real-estate owner and developer based in NJ is seeking a strategic and experienced CFO to join their team. The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. This role requires a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the real estate industry. The CFO will play a crucial role in driving the financial strategy, optimizing performance, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
- Lead the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct financial analysis, modeling, and scenario planning to inform business decisions.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory filings and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring successful completion of audits and financial reviews.
- Develop and execute capital-raising strategies to support the company’s growth initiatives.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions.
- Optimize the company’s capital structure and cost of capital.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and risk management policies.
- Ensure the company’s insurance coverage is adequate and cost-effective.
- Oversee the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and manage working capital efficiently.
- Optimize cash management processes and procedures.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Conduct due diligence and financial analysis to support investment decisions.
- Monitor the performance of existing investments and recommend strategies for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the real estate industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
