Job Summary: This position independently performs skilled and semi-skilled work utilizing advanced technology with closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment to inspect sewer collection and storm-water drainage systems. It will require system data analysis, GIS, organization, QUES system operations and Granite computer programming skills. Work duties will also include cleaning and maintenance of sanitary systems as needed.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
Regular and timely attendance at work.
Conducts CCTV and push camera inspections to develop video and written reports of sewer and storm-water line and manhole conditions.
Repair and maintain the CCTV camera unit including but not limited to communicating with vendors for computer program updates, trouble shoot existing equipment and performs routine camera maintenance.
Have a thorough understanding of the QUES and Granite operating program system in a Windows-based platform.
Understand practical applications of the GIS system.
Work with the GIS data base to input sewer and storm-water CCTV information and check for consistency and accuracy.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for camera and computer operations and training.
Read and interpret construction drawings and blue prints.
Serve as "essential personnel" and remain available for immediate call-in due to any natural or man-made disaster, or any other event the Director of Public Works, Assistant City Manager, or the City Manager deem necessary.
Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Two (2) years experience operating computer data base software or CCTV operations. Work experience and education may be substituted for part of this requirement.
Six (6) months to one (1) year experience in a related field preferred.
Valid, Texas Driver's License
Currently possess a valid Class "A" CDL with "N" endorsement, or the ability to obtain within 90 days from hire date. This license is a condition of employment.
Class II Wastewater Collections License (or the ability to obtain within 1 year).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully an individual should have computer skills in Windows, Word, Excel and Access.
Ability to use all types of maps and CAD drawings, subdivision plats, report documents, plans, computer workstation, GPS equipment, copy machines, fax, printers, plotters, metal detectors, and occasionally use a City vehicle.
Basic budget skills for projecting inventory, computer and CCTV maintenance costs.
Knowledge and working experience to repair CCTV camera and QUES truck components.
Professional and effective communication skills when interacting with coworkers, supervisors, other departments and the general public.
Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and record management techniques to manage CCTV reports.
Follow written and oral instructions.
