We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Buyer to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This opportunity is perfect for the professional who is looking to contribute to an innovative, forward-thinking company. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing procurement activities, effectively handling inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain. This role is pivotal in maintaining profitable relationships with suppliers, conducting cost analysis, and spearheading strategic sourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services from suppliers, ensuring the best quality at the most competitive prices.
2. Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet production needs while minimizing carrying costs.
3. Develop and implement materials management strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
4. Manage the supply chain, ensuring smooth operations from supplier to end-user, identifying and mitigating any risks or disruptions.
5. Oversee contract management, ensuring all supplier contracts are up-to-date, compliant, and deliver maximum value.
6. Conduct cost analysis, identifying areas for potential savings and implementing cost-effective strategies.
7. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, identifying and developing relationships with key suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality materials.
8. Maintain a deep product knowledge, staying up-to-date with industry trends and changes to ensure the company remains competitive.
9. Manage budgets, ensuring all procurement activities remain within allocated funds, and identifying opportunities for savings.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, materials management, supply chain management, contract management, cost analysis, strategic sourcing, and budgeting.
4. In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing industry and its products.
5. Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and prices.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and make informed business decisions.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
9. Proficiency in relevant software, including inventory management and procurement systems.
10. Self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
