Position Title: Buyer

Reports To: Purchasing Manager
Classification: Salary - Exempt
Position Summary:
The Buyer will be responsible in keeping component inventory levels to sustain a 98% Customer OTD with PO scheduling using MRP and Vendor Managed Inventory.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepares, issues, and evaluates purchase orders for inventoried purchased components and MRO items
- Negotiates pricing and commercial terms
- Supplier On Time Delivery to meet customer orders
- Inventory Control
- Maintaining MRP Planning Parameters
- Supplier management
- Cost reduction
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, in a business-related area, or equivalent experience (5+ years) in supply management.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree plus 3 years minimum of supply management /purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Material Requirement Planning
- Manufacturing Purchasing Experience
- Master Data set up
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read blue prints
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize daily issues
- Intermediate level use of Microsoft Excel
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Experience using Macola MRP
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels within the organization and with external suppliers
- Skilled at building external and internal relationships
- Understanding of manufacture flow in a discrete production environment
- Understanding Bills of Materials
- Strong analytical skills
- CPM, CPSM, CPIM a plus
