Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and efficient Busser/Runner to join our team. As a Busser/Runner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the dining area and supporting the waitstaff and kitchen staff. Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the smooth operation of our establishment.
Role & Responsibilities
· Table Preparation: Set up tables with utensils, napkins, and condiments before guests arrive, ensuring that each table is clean and properly arranged.
· Clearing Tables: Clear tables promptly after guests finish their meals, removing dishes, glasses, and silverware efficiently. Ensure that used plates and cutlery are safely transported to the dishwashing area.
· Refilling Supplies: Monitor and restock supplies such as napkins, straws, sugar packets, and condiments to ensure they are always readily available for guests.
· Dining Area Maintenance: Continuously monitor the dining area during service to ensure it remains clean, organized, and presentable. Wipe down tables and chairs, remove debris, and maintain a tidy environment.
· Assistance to Waitstaff: Assist waitstaff by promptly delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Collaborate with Kitchen Staff: Maintain open communication with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination of food delivery, responding promptly to their requests for tableware or cleaning assistance.
· Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their requests and inquiries, and providing general assistance when needed.
· Support Teamwork: Work closely with the entire restaurant team to create a positive and efficient work environment. Offer assistance to colleagues during peak periods or when necessary.
· Adhere to Health and Safety Guidelines: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation procedures, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
Requirements & Physical Demands
· Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a bakery or restaurant environment.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, maintaining a high level of efficiency.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
· Strong attention to detail, ensuring that tables are properly set and cleared in a timely manner.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to interact with guests and team members.
· Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy trays or bus tubs for extended periods.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the restaurant's operational requirements.
