About the Job
Business Development Representative
Company overview:
Parallax is a forecasted capacity and resource planning solution built for digital services
organizations. Centered around the most critical agency operational pillars – capacity planning,
resource management, project financials, and operations intelligence – Parallax helps maximize
efficiency of resources, ensure utilization goals are met, and track and improve project margin
About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative
(BDR) to join our fast-paced SaaS startup. The position, located at Parallax headquarters in
Edina, MN, is a hybrid role focused on the qualification of marketing leads and outbound
prospecting targeting accounts that meet Parallax’s definition of Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
As lead volume varies month-to-month, BDRs spend most of their time doing outbound
prospecting. That consists of the execution of “sequences” that combine email, phone, and
LinkedIn outreach. Sequences are managed in Parallax’s HubSpot CRM system and its
cadence/sequence management platform (Gong Engage).
We’re looking for candidates that are self-motivated, enthusiastic and interested in a long-term
career in sales. It’s a fast-paced, highly critical role – BDRs are central to our growth strategy.
Candidates need to be comfortable reaching out to a variety of personas including business
owners and senior executives. As the front line of our sales organization, we encourage BDRs to
provide input and feedback on our overall go-to-market strategy. Your voice and perspective
matters.
In addition to a highly competitive compensation plan (one based on SaaS industry standards),
our office contains many of the perks associated with tech start-ups. Parallax puts a lot of time
and energy into fostering a “work hard, play hard” culture.
Responsibilities:
● Through outbound prospecting and lead qualification, generate meeting opportunities for the Parallax Account Executive (AE) team.
● As part of the effort to schedule meetings, ask questions aimed at identifying the prospect’s business priorities, pain points and needs. When possible, collect information
related to the prospect’s technical infrastructure, budget and purchasing plans.
● Using approved messaging, establish strong rapport with prospects by confidently articulating our value proposition and our product’s key differentiators.
● Based on notes captured during prospecting activity, provide Parallax AEs with a
comprehensive debrief before each scheduled prospect meeting.
● Participate in regularly scheduled training sessions. These sessions include product training, messaging & pitch training and industry / competitive landscape training.
● Commit to additional self-directed training and take the initiative to collaborate with internal subject matter experts (AEs, Solution Consultants, Product Experts).
● Provide feedback to the Parallax marketing team on the effectiveness of different content assets and marketing campaigns.
Qualification:
● 2 years in sales or business development (preferably in the SaaS industry)
● Parallax is also willing to consider recent graduates that have the right attitude, a strong work ethic and a desire for a long-term career in sales
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Self-motivated and results-driven
● Energetic, can-do attitude
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Familiarity with CRM software and other sales automation technologies
What you get in return:
● Competitive base salary, commissions potential, and stock options
● Flexible work environment in-office and/or work from home
● Full health benefits including medical, dental, vision, etc.
● 401k program with 5% company match
● Fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment allowing career and growth expansion
● Employee health, wellness, and culture programs
● An opportunity, only limited by your ambition and creativity, to impact our company’s future
