Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to work closely with the Partners and Marketing Manager to develop business strategy, marketing content, and customized proposals.
Responsibilities
- Aid in creating, implementing, and following up on business and visibility plans for markets, industry groups, departments, practice groups, and attorneys.
- Evaluate and manage responses to requests for proposals/qualifications, including customizing proposal content, practice descriptions, attorney bios, and related materials.
- Analyze client feedback from interviews, identify potential opportunities, and determine next steps for enhancing client relationships and adding value.
- Develop customized biographies for attorneys before they start and as needed.
- Assist in the development, execution, and follow-up of attorney business plans, coordinating with the BD team to manage meeting schedules and review processes.
- Recommend, oversee, and assist in practice group and attorney visibility campaigns, including trade group activities, sponsorships, speaking engagements, thought leadership pieces, client alerts, blogs, surveys, rankings, honors, and awards.
- Build strong working relationships with key partners across all practice areas, offices, and departments, as well as with the MBD team.
- Prepare and deliver updates on MBD's contributions to cross-departmental projects within the firm.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and BD Coordinator to oversee the development and editing of content, such as practice group descriptions, proposal content, and attorney biographies.
- Support the coordination and maintenance of the annual Chambers submission process.
- Contribute to the firm's coordination of legal-specific honors, such as Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers, and assist in the evaluation and development of custom honors submissions for practice groups and individual attorneys.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in marketing and business development, preferably in professional services.
- BA in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in document management tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Skills in InDesign and Photoshop are advantageous.
- Travel to the firm's markets is necessary.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
