Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with extensive experience in Microsoft Power BI and SQL database development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving process improvement initiatives, particularly focused on converting legacy database environments and reports into more advanced and streamlined solutions. This role will also involve a customer-facing component, addressing ad-hoc reporting inquiries and automation needs for the broader Product Development division.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Visualization:
o Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to provide insights into key business metrics.
o Analyze complex data sets using SQL to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Database Development & Maintenance:
o Transition database solution from an Access-based environment to a SQL-based data mart, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
o Design, develop and maintenance databases to support various reporting and analytical needs.
o Continously improve existing databases to adapt to evolving business needs
Reporting & Documentation:
o Manage ad-hoc inquiries related to reporting, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
o Create comprehensive documentation of data processes, methodologies, and reports.
o Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of canned and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders.
Requirements Gathering:
o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
o Translate business needs into technical specifications for reporting and analytics solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive performance and efficiency.
o Provide training and support to team members on Power BI and data analysis best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in data collection, reporting, and analysis.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
Qualifications
Education:
o Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
o Master's degree is a plus
Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in business analysis or a related role, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and reporting.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and SQL is essential; experience with other BI tools is a plus.
Technical Skills :
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
o Advanced knowledge of data visualization best practices and techniques.
o Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
