Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid CDL with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement
State of Oklahoma Bus Driving Certificate
School Bus Endorsement
Yearly Physician’s Statement Certifying Fitness for Duty
Job Goal: Provide safe and efficient transportation to allow students to access the district’s curriculum and extra curricular programs.
Employment Terms: 10 Month Contract

Evaluation: Annually by Director of Transportation

Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds
Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates district busses in a safe manner, including obeying all traffic laws and observing all mandatory school bus safety regulations.
- Inspects bus for mechanical defects prior to each operation and cleans bus after each operation.
- Completes all required paperwork, including preventive maintenance trip worksheets.
- Promptly reports any accident and complete required paperwork.
- Follows assigned schedule and routes. Only transports authorized students.
- Notifies supervisor in the event of mechanical failure, late arrival, or other difficulties.
- Maintains order and discipline on busses (based on school policy) and promptly reports any disciplinary problems to the Transportation Director.
- Exercises professionalism during school trips.
- Complies with all federal, state and local laws, and board policies and procedures.
- Utilizes professional behavior in all school related interactions.
- Participates in trainings.
- Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
