About the Job
Purolite, an Ecolab company, the world leader in resin-based separation, purification and extraction technology, is seeking a Bulk Chemical Unloader to work out of our G Street Manufacturing Plant in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for loading and unloaded tank trunks coming into the plant.
Job Title: Bulk Chemical Unloader/Material Handler
Reports to: Shift Leader/Production Coordinator/Production Manager
Location: 3620 G St. Philadelphia, PA 19134
What you will do: Loads and unloads all tank trucks and pick and pull materials for production
- Loads and unloads tankers, following all plant SOP’s
- Provides samples of raw materials upon request
- Maintain the back of the Triangle warehouse with raw materials and chemical waste (reporting waste to the EHS manager)
- Maintains the raw material chemical racks
- Frequently communicate with plants bulk material inventory operator to maintain/adjust schedule
- Assists in other areas of the plant as directed by shift leader or supervisor (including packaging)
- Troubleshoot issues as required
- Trained in recordkeeping and ISO procedures for area of responsibility
- Maintain clean work area at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school degree or the equivalent with experience in a similar field.
- Prior experience loading and unloading tank wagons.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Computer literate. Has the ability to initiate tasks and work in an independent manner. Must be able to communicate with visitors, professional and plant personnel. Must be forklift certified or have ability to quickly become forklift certified upon hire. Must be able to work weekends and overtime hours as required.
Contacts and Relationships:
Interfaces with other department personnel in the corporate office, administration and plant locations as necessary Requires good communication, interpersonal skills and interacts well with external customers, visitors, employees and management in other departments
Working Conditions:
Position operates in an environment in which there may be temperature extremes and exposure to weather, excessive noise and vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, hazardous chemicals, gases, odors, hot liquids or equipment. May work in high, low or confined spaces.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires lifting/pushing/carrying up to 50 pounds chest high.
Equipment use: Extensive computer use, frequent use of lab equipment, forklift, and other machinery and tools
