Job Title: Building Maintenance Mechanic

Job Locations:

• Grandy Village, 3151 Kimball Terrace, Norfolk, VA

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM

Pay Rate: $19.58/hour

Essential Functions

• Performs routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements on public housing units and buildings to ensure safe operations of properties.
• Processes work order documentation.
• Performs routine grounds, structural, plumbing, appliance, and electrical maintenance
• Removes litter and debris from lawns, sidewalks, and streets.
• Performs routine painting assignments.
• Prepares housing unit for new tenants.
• Leads less skilled maintenance staff.
• Monitors and assures regulatory compliance and satisfactory performance ratings.
• Assists property management in resident evictions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification will be advantageous.
• Valid Driver’s License & Driving Record.
• Experience in Building Maintenance.
• Must provide your own tools.
• Must have own reliable transportation.
• Must wear safety boots.
• Can stand/walk/sit/crouch.
• Lift/move up to 70lbs.
• Customer Service Skills (to talk to housing residents, staff, supervisors.)
