Job Details: Actively hiring for a Building Automation Engineer to join our team in the Orlando area. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced automation systems for commercial buildings. You'll integrate various systems, including HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management, to create efficient and intelligent environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop building automation systems based on client needs and industry standards.
- Integrate various building systems, including HVAC, lighting, security, access control, fire alarms, and energy management, into a unified platform.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and facility managers to understand building specifications, technical constraints, and user requirements.
- Create detailed system design documents, including architecture, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure proper use, functionality, and limitations of components.
- Program automation controllers, sensors, actuators, and other devices to achieve desired functionality and performance.
- Provide detailed system schematics, hardware, and software point lists to the Graphics Engineer based on design documents.
- Create performance checkout documentation for the field operation team.
- Conduct on-site commissioning of automation systems to ensure proper functioning and adherence to project specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to the field operation team.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users, including facility managers and maintenance staff.
- Follow the project schedule and deadlines set by the project manager and customer.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulations related to building automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist the BAS Service Team with regular system maintenance, upgrades, and software/firmware updates to optimize performance and address issues.
- Help develop project proposals, cost estimates, and timelines for automation projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent education/experience considered.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining building automation systems; ACAD, Niagara, and Distech experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management systems.
- Proficiency in building automation protocols like BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
