With a minimum of ten (10) years of experience and strong technical and project management skills, you will help lead and grow our bridge design team. Responsibilities- Lead the planning, administration, and design of structural bridge projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis, seismic analysis, and design for various bridge projects.
- Develop and review engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel structures, and other materials.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Utilize engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD for project delivery.
- Ensure timely delivery of PS&E contract documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across various geographic locations.
- Conduct quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards in project execution.
- Apply advanced seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques to bridge projects.
- Develop quantities and cost estimates, ensuring projects stay within budget.
- Collaborate with CADD technicians to develop detailed bridge plans and specifications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, code requirements, and client objectives.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering required; Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon and Washington required or the ability to obtain through reciprocity; PE licenses in other states a plus.
- Structural Engineer (SE) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a bridge engineer, including design, plan preparation, structural analysis, seismic analysis and design, quantity calculation, and construction support services.
- Experience with ODOT and WSDOT projects a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing tasks, projects, and professional staff.
- Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD a plus.
- Proficiency with MicroStation (ORD a plus) and Civil3D.
- Advanced understanding of seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of structural behavior and mechanics of materials.
- Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures; familiarity with timber and masonry design a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project).
The pay range for this Washington position is $130,000- $160,000 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions.
