We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to the financial health of our organization, requiring the individual to play a crucial part in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and has a strong understanding of the legal industry. This position requires the ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
3. Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
4. Process payroll, remittance of payroll taxes, and government reporting.
5. Prepare and coordinate year-end tax documents and work closely with external tax preparers.
6. Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls while overseeing that all office and accounting policies are followed.
7. Manage the preparation and review of all monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
8. Work closely with the management team to create budgets, forecast financials, and prepare financial analysis of operations.
9. Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for various financial functions and reporting.
10. Ensure compliance with state revenue service, federal tax requirements, and local legal regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the legal industry.
3. Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
4. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data.
8. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Demonstrated ability to work well with a team, as well as independently.
