Non-Profit Bookkeeper (Contract Role) East Bay -Immediate Start!
Onsite: 3 days per week-20 Hrs weekly
Duration: 2-3 months (Temporary/Contract)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled bookkeeper with expertise in non-profit accounting, multi-entity operations, and grant management to provide urgent support for our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounting, invoicing, and business operations while offering hands-on support in month-end and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Accounting & Invoicing: Oversee and assist with coding and accounting of grant funds. Review and ensure timely invoicing, especially for a grant that has not been billed for 1.5 years. Provide support in compiling and documenting information (admin staff is responsible for the initial sorting).
- Grant Billing: Help the team with proper and timely billing, ensuring all entities involved are aligned for billing accuracy.
- Month-End/Year-End: Ensure all financial records are properly managed and reports are timely. Offer hands-on involvement when necessary for closing out financial periods.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a bookkeeper or similar role, with a focus on non-profit accounting and multi-entity operations.
- Software Proficiency: Must have hands-on experience with QuickBooks (QB)
- Non-Profit Sector: Strong understanding of the non-profit environment, particularly in managing grant funds and the related invoicing processes.
- Multi-Entity Operations: Proven ability to manage accounting and financial operations across multiple entities.
- Grant Management: Familiarity with reimbursable grants from municipal or county-level entities, ideally with experience working with local governments or municipalities.

Work Schedule: Part-time 20 Hrs a week
- Hours: Must be available onsite minimum 3 days per week
Salary: $34-$36 hourly
