Entry level position is responsible for all service-related activities with OEM vendors, maintenance, repair, spare parts inventory, biomedical equipment repair & maintenance. Must work closely with and be responsive to Clinic operations management and purchasing. Qualified candidates will have a background which may include mechanical or biomedical technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualities and traits: collaborative, independent, analytical, mechanical, self-motivated, self-starter, continuously strives to stay up to date and increase their knowledge/skills.
- Prior experience working in a mechanical, automotive, or medical technical setting (preferred but not required).
- Manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment.
- Ability to create a safe and efficient work environment.
Education and Credentials:
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.
- Knowledge of basic electronics, biomedical technology, or equivalent (preferred but not required)

- Displays a proactive approach and is assertive in all aspects of governing unit functions, i.e. staffing and overtime of technologists; parts and maintenance; financial conservation while considering quality; protection and surveillance of equipment, etc.
- Utilizes resources to improve skills, knowledge, and practice to assure continuous quality patient care and delivery of Eyecare Partners LLC service.
- adequately and to the best potential outcome.
- Participates in staff education, staff meetings, and in-services as needed.
- Responsible for Inventory of Biomedical Equipment for upload into Eyecare Partners Asset Management database.
- Performs base level assessment and repair for all equipment issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- When necessary, contacts the OEM/vendor and coordinates service/repair that minimizes equipment down time. Coordinates loaner units when necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance or coordinates preventative maintenance with a 3rd party vendor as needed.
- Participates in on-going training from OEMs to ensure technical competency for repair of equipment.
- Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate biomedical equipment and support systems to adhere to medical standard guidelines.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
