About the Job
A professional services organization located in Newton, MA is in active search for a permanent Billing Coordinator to join their accounting team. The Billing Coordinator is responsible for managing all billing and revenue accounting at our location, including independent living, supported living, and skilled nursing facility (Medicare, insurance, and private pay). Providing excellent customer service to residents, families, vendors, and colleagues is a key priority.
Schedule:
- Hybrid schedule considered
- Maintain daily census reports and manage resident admissions, discharges, and account setups.
- Process billing for Medicare, insurance, private pay, and independent/supported living residents; resolve discrepancies and address inquiries.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and arrange payment plans with CFO approval.
- Handle payments, ensure accurate posting, and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue.
- Update billing codes, recurring charges, and adjustments as needed.
- Complete Medicare reports and assist with monthly financial close processes.
- Track absence meal credits and support additional finance office tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information (PHI).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3+ years of experience with Medicare and Insurance requirements
- Intermediate level of skill with Microsoft Excel
