Job Summary:
The Billing and Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing the billing and collections processes within the finance department. You will handle tasks such as billing, posting checks, and following up on denials. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process billing for services rendered, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Investigate and follow up on denials, resubmitting claims as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of billing and collections activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and collections issues.
- Stay updated on billing practices, regulations, and industry trends.
- Assist with other finance-related tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Office setting preferred
- Knowledge of UB04 and 1500 billing practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with authorizations for Home Care services is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in computer applications, including HHA Exchange or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Must remain in stationary position for long periods of time at desk or computer
- Requires occasional standing, sitting, walking; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; hearing; talking
