**Position Overview:**
The Service Cashier / Clerk is responsible for providing efficient and accurate processing of customer transactions related to vehicle service. This role supports the service department by ensuring that all customer accounts are handled with the utmost professionalism and accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor to enhance customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Greet customers warmly and professionally as they arrive for service appointments.
- Accurately process customer transactions, including payments for service and parts, ensuring a smooth check-out experience.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of service transactions and customer information.
- Assist in resolving customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring compliance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to ensure smooth operations in the service department.
- Process warranty claims and coordinate with the accounting department for payment.
- Manage service-related paperwork and maintain an organized filing system.
- Adhere to all dealership and regulatory policies, including safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to support team objectives.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or business administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a cashier, accounts receivable, or service-related role preferred.
- Basic understanding of automotive terminology and service processes is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and dealership management systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
