Responsibilities:The Benefits Manager performs jobs responsibilities within the framework of established Hospital procedures, policies and standards under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities as follows:
- Maintains employee personnel files and other relevant files current as they apply to benefits.
- On a timely basis processes Personnel Action Forms (PAF’s) related to employees’ status including increases, transfers, and other relevant changes. Processes computer input for newly eligible benefit information and all other benefit changes on existing employees.
- Appropriately processes employee terminations of benefits. Processes COBRA eligible former employees with the appropriate company. Ensures that information is processed correctly and processes all transactions.
- Assists in processing of new hire reports to the state on a timely basis.
- Sends reminders for Performance evaluation reviews to all department managers and follows up with any delinquent Performance Evaluations as needed.
- Responds to employment verifications and workers’ compensation claims in a timely manner and updates leave and workers compensation status in the system.
- Screens telephone calls, visitors, and mail. Handles all phone calls in a professional, courteous and friendly manner.
- Develops and maintains a filing system dealing with benefits.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality for all Personnel matters and ensures proper confidentiality of all documents.
- Deals with employee requests, questions, or concerns in a courteous, professional, efficient and effective manner following the company’s expectation of providing excellent customer service.
- Starts the initial screening of applicants for non-skilled positions and provides necessary screening tests.13. Processes invoices in a timely manner with appropriate approvals.
- Administers and Oversees 401k plan for the company
- Performs non-discrimination testing and maintains 401k plan compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
As you would suspect; compliance, vendor management, collaboration, customer service, benefits administration, innovation and human resource experience is vital in this position.
Qualifications:Required qualifications:
- College degree or at least 5 years of experience in benefit administration.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and superior interpersonal skills.
- 1+ years of management/supervisory experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience coordinating employee benefits, e.g. health, dental, vision coverage, etc.
