LISW / LPC / LSW – Correctional Mental Health Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) , Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) , or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) to join our behavioral health team in a correctional facility. This is a unique opportunity to provide vital mental health services to an underserved population, contributing to their rehabilitation and well-being in a secure environment.

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address mental health needs, behavioral challenges, and emotional well-being.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff, correctional officers, and administrators, to coordinate patient care.
• Respond to mental health crises and provide interventions to stabilize patients.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
• Educate staff and inmates on mental health topics, including stress management, coping skills, and self-care techniques.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care upon release.
• Adhere to all security and safety protocols within the correctional environment.

• Current and valid LISW , LPC , or LSW license in Ohio
• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in mental health counseling (experience in corrections, substance abuse, or trauma-informed care is preferred).
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic approaches.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a structured and secure environment.
• CPR certification (preferred).
